Alright, let's do this theorizing. But before we get too far down the theory trail, let us establish that the detective has the answer, per the Ryan/Static P. The Detective only has one true talent that we know of, since he didn't fighthis assailant's. One special move, "I put myself in your shoes." And this ability is demonstrate, by "hearing the thoughts behind your words."

With this in mind, we should consider what we have been told thus far and by whom. In this instance though I am going to focus on a particular character, Hareka. She is the one who chases down Cole, the opposite singer in Dream On, and the one we see havea moment with one of the Meteor girls. Specifically, Morime. (I'll edit this if needed after I go back and review later today.) What does she say or do that would lead to a guilty conscience. We have the specifics of Dream On and No One's in This Alone to point us in the right direction. From Dream on we have her match Cole with:

Who am I? I need to be their light, but I'm scared.

And from No One's in This Alone:

No one's in this alone, I wanna do my part
You can't see it but they're fightin' for you
Everyone of us is a weakling on our own
So I'm learning, to trust, with you

Why is she learning to trust again? Could it be that a friend of her's broke her confidence? Could it be that she said things to someone who took things too far?

Cue Morime, one of the Meteor girls who is giving Star Blushes Alibi. She and Hareka have a moment atthe end of clues to a poor man's breifcase.

I suspect that Hareka confided a secret in Morime that she ended up taking too far.

As per my previous points, we will need to gather evidence related to how. How was one of our suspects able to come into possession of the dynamite.

Also does anyone know what lighting a match sounds like. And sounds that are similar to it?

The lead in Idol bombing comes from the quote "That sounds LIKE someone lighting a match." Not that someone did in fact light a match.

Also we have a detectives discord for those who are interested in deeper investigation. I'll get the Lead Investigator to post that later.

I believe that the star blush girls are innocent and that the mafia mentioned in  Clues to A Poorman's Briefcase could be the bombers.  At the start of the series D. D. was kidnapped by an organization, which for the sake of my argument is the mafia, to see what D. D. could do with a long time between the crime and when he shows up, and with little to no evidence.  But that raises the question, Why bomb an idol competition and make it look like the Star Blush Girls did it?

Haven't listened to the most recent song, Bad News. However, logically speaking, just a thought, it would make sense if the Meteor Girls did it out of jealousy or if they contacted the mafia and told them that they'd share the money with them. Something like that. I've got no proof, I'm horrible at mysteries unless I can ask questions and interview people personally, but just some thoughts. Also, I wouldn't be too concerned about the minutia of the literal phrasing of the lyrics, because sometimes you can get lost in it and lose sight of the bigger picture. But who knows. I could be wrong.

Monime has some suspicions from me, mostly because they had only just opened the briefcase when Monime gave a ring to Hareka. I also feel like the Poor Man's Briefcase is being sung from Monime's perspective.

But one thing that caught my eye when listening through the songlist again... The bomb went off just before or just after the 7th group, Angelight. The backscreen shows "Are you Ready?" which is the name of the song that Angelight sings, as per the monitor on the left and the expanded list of songs/idol groups provided in the video description. This is two songs after Star Blush Girls performed.

I was hoping to connect this to "Bad News," but the most I can get is if what Nori says is accurate, the Star Blush Girls would not make first or second place, according to his inside sources. I will mention that the top two groups were redacted from the video as well as the place that Star Blush Girls would get.

I think I would avoid putting stock into rankings on the videos. I think they are cool visual clues, but I don't think that you want to rely on them too much.

While I agree that Morime is suspicious I wouldn't say that CTAPMB is from her perspective. It's more likely that she was just taking the message from the note seriously.

Perhaps it would be advisable to relisten to the songs without the music. The vocals are written by the architect of the bombing himself. Perhaps the clues reside there?

Uhm not sure if this is in consideration of the KH in Criminal Idol, but here's a piece that could spark suspicions towards him again

Didn't read all the speculations, but I believe that it was one of the meteor girls. In inspiration it says that the previous meteor girls were successful, and not that the current ones are. By the metor girls i don't mean the ones who were on stage tho, cuz they were successful. It would have been their 4th win probably. Not sure which meteor girl it is but if I had to guess it is Morime. Aka sensei and Hyudou are out of the question in my opinion, cuz both of them started to work with Meteor AFTER the bomb accident. Nori? Why would he do that? He wants the underdog win, and by this he would have taken the chance away from Starblush Girls. Detective? Once again, he fights for justice. He is someone who tries his best to uncover the mystery and didn't alienate himself away from Starblush Girls. Just the way he acts u know that he is either a  very good Psychopat, or just simply a kind person. I suspect the latter. The Starblush Girls were far away from the bomb, and because a match was lit we know that the bomb is probably not timed or detonated by a detonator but triggered by a fuse. 1 meteor girl heard the match being lit, which means that the suspect was in their very close vicnicity. They wouldn't suspect one of their own. The two who whispered to eachother are the innocent ones and the third one is my suspect. Oh btw, Cole is obviously isn't it, cuz he didn't have anythin' to do with the idol business. The one who acts suspciously among the current Meteor members is Morime. (At the briefcase chapter, when she looks at the rings she is sad, but then gives it to Hareka, and the smiles. I dunno, this seemed a bit susp. to meh.)

Edit: Ah btw, there is probably more than one criminals in this case. Morime is just the one I think triggered the bomb.

Has anybody made a proper "link chart" or timeline for the series?  (Think of the usual detective's bulletin board with pictures of suspects and evidence pinned up, and red yarn 'linking' people and events together.  If you don't know what i'm talking about, just google image "Detective's Link Chart" and you'll see what I mean).  I was thinking of making one, and trying to fit a bunch of the things together so we can keep track of it all.  I'm gonna go full Matpat "Game Theory" on this... stuff.

But THAT'S just a theory- A DETECTIVE THEORY!  Thanks for suspecting!  XD

The most recent song, Your Eyes inspired me to look through and see what I could come up with, So I took some free time and made a document. The link at the bottom is the entire document I created and it is open to the public for modification. It has all related info compiled and given a way to be referenced (for new and old theory crafters) to all current songs on criminal idol so far (lyrics and what I deemed important screenshots for all 11 songs) as well as some of my own notes, ideas, and theories. I plan to keep updating it and curious to see how it may develop with more than me working on it.

Alright, this might be a bit rambly, but here's what I'm currently thinking:

I doubt the bomber is anyone not featured in When The Darkness Comes, and while the former Star Blush members would be prime suspects, I'd rule them out simply on the basis that if one of them was the bomber, they'd at least have unique designs in A Reason For Suffering. I also personally don't think it's Nori, and that his inclusion is for a different reason: a motive for the real bomber. Nori aims to work with Star Blush to somehow dismantle the world of idol gambling from within, so if someone from within that world caught wind of it, naturally they'd want to put a stop to it. So they plant a bomb with the intent to ruin the upcoming Star Blush Girls' reputation and stop Nori from going through with whatever he's planning.

Someone involved in rigging idol competitions would of course have access to the cameras and could simply pause them while they have someone inconspicuous plant the bomb and set it off, presumably with a match. (Though a ticking sound can be heard in Idol Bombing leading into the first chorus, hmm...)

Now, this is where it all gets a bit less credible and more speculative, but I think Morime was involved with planting the bomb, and Hareka knows. They seemed to be awkward with eachother at the start of Clues To a Poor Man's Briefcase, but making up by the end of it. After the trip, Hareka decides to tell Detective about Nori and Detective concludes she's hiding something more, this of course being Morime's involvement. But why would Morime still support and admire a group she tried to blow up and even provide them an alibi? Probably because she didn't intend to cause any harm in the first place. Someone else convinced her to slip the bomb into the backpack disguised as something else, perhaps promising they'd get them closer to Star Blush in popularity. Which technically wouldn't have been a lie. Hareka knows Morime didn't intend to deal damage, but also doesn't want to put Morime in a bad spot by telling DD about her involvement, which is weighing heavy on her conscience.

So then the question remains, who got Morime to plant the bomb? I can only think of Aka Sensei, but if we consider Morime's involvement as a sufficient tie to the main cast, perhaps it was her parent as seen in Your Eyes. They were wearing the same uniform as the charity staff, which Hareka's parents were seemingly part of, so perhaps that's how Hareka and Morime knew eachother prior to the events of the series. That might also explain how they caught wind of Nori's plan.

But hey, I could be entirely on the wrong track here, who knows! Static hasn't exactly been predictable over the course of the series.

Okay, here goes.

Detective Monkerstar bursts onto the scene - and carrying a folder, no less! What's in the folder I hear you ask? Well you're welcome to take a look...

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1AIRHxfqzz27UG-3tKahI8XYcmE7SpbePEP0TW28GL3g/edit?usp=sharing

While unfinished, I wanted to give this to all of you before the last songs are released on Criminal Idol to help bring us together and straighten things out. This has taken a long time - my only hope is that for people interested in solving the case but don't have the time to meticulously look through the whole album, I can give you the details and a lot of trivia. By no means does this have all of the clues in it, but I hope it helps.

Good luck Detectives!

Okay this is going out sound completely wild but I have to write it down and share it. My theory:

Bomber: Hareka(planted bomb) + Nori(triggered bomb) + Kanesaki (possibly unknowingly)

Motive: Hareka, wanting to inspire the world, was disgusted by Nori telling her it was all rigged. She then made a plan with Nori to make sure the betting ring loses. The idea that she was helping the group now known as Meteor, Morime, Kariko, and Furuto, who were big fans of their group, get to be Idols, led to her getting pushed over the edge and committing to it.

Means: Get Kanesaki to make a bomb that would be activated by audio feedback, hide it in their bags, get the group to safety, get Nori to trigger it by creating audio feedback, and have it go off and disrupt the competition enough to get it canceled.

Timeline: Hareka was brought into the plot to bomb the show when she made the deal to work with Nori to end the gambling part of it. Hareka, knowing Kanesaki is a genius, made him construct the bomb (he most likely only understood it was a bomb after Hareka ran off with it and that is why he invited DD to the show). Then, after their performance, she got the group out and effectively signaled the go-ahead to Nori. Nori, being someone who works on the inside, had access to a live mic and all he had to do was simply place it in front of a speaker to get the feedback and trigger the bomb. ---- After the bombing Hareka is under conflicted. On one hand she is shocked, disturbed, and feels guilty from being involved. On the other hand she doesn't want to admit it and destroy not only SBG, but also Meteor who could be considered to have benefited from it. Hareka told Morime about her involvement and that is why the strange relationship occurs in Clues to A Poor Man's Briefcase.

My reasoning:

  • Audio feedback can sound like a match under the right circumstances (made this connection from Static teasing the emojis when asked for hints), this assumes the bomb had some kind of remote speaker as its input. (feedback loop through a mic and a speaker with an additional wireless speaker in the bag outputting it)
  • Kanesaki, being the lazy genius he is, probably didn't realize what he was building for Hareka if she asked for it in pieces over a period of time.
  • DD being invited to the competition by Kanesaki led me to assume that Kanesaki was was able to find out about the bomb but not stop it, and so he called in DD in in order to figure it out
  • It would be very easy for Nori to trigger the bomb if it was set up in this way seeing as he most likely has backstage access.
  • Listening back to When the Darkness comes gave me the thought that Hareka was someone who "Who trick their minds to justify what's in their head." and that she "betrayed" herself and now, as the last lines state, "When the darkness comes with a tempting thought/ Don't betray us all for it/ 'cause the darkness only comes to bring us hell." seems to be coming true with all the chaos that it led too.
  • My suspicion on Hareka is reassured in Dream On! when the detective deflects Cole's questions and Hareka is seen listening at the door and throughout the video Hareka slowly goes from frowning to smiling. I take this as two things, she is glad that someone believes them not to be at fault for it and that DD hasn't told Cole (and also Hareka x Cole)

One thing to add: I have a hunch that Nori wasn't being truthful when he brought Hareka into this, but the only support I have for this is in No One's In This Alone where it is apparent that someone betrayed her trust. Problems with this hunch though,
1) it invalidates the possibility of Hareka getting the bomb (she wouldn't knowingly get a bomb).
2) How would the group know to get out of the building? or was that juts coincidence?

The only reason why I don't support that theory more is because I have more evidence for my other

Unanswered questions still left:

  • We still don't know why DD was originally kidnapped
    • In Detective Detective, it does mention "two men in suits"--Possibly charity worker connection?
  • Does Morime have a bigger role with her father appearing to be a charity worker?

Well there you have it everyone, another theory for the books

Hareka is the bomber

As much as I don’t want it to be true, she is the most likely suspect. But even if she did SHE WAS BRAINWASHED. Where is the TRUE justice?!

@Detective Ota jk lol I don't know exactly, I don't think it's as important as who detonated the bomb as it is who all was involved, because I think the list of culprits is growing. Hareka, Nori, Kanesaki, Aka Sensei, Morime, and even Detective Detective are all on my suspicion list of weird things going on in criminal idol universe rn.
